Ruby Chapman of Ruby's Adornments

Now that I look back, I am not at all surprised that I have chosen to spend my senior years recreating my life of the early childhood years.

We lived on a farm and much of our time was spent tilling rather poor soil for the crops. We constantly amused ourselves with whatever or where ever. Rocks were a major source of the fun we created. Smooth stones were a favorite for marbles, hopscotch, and even baseball. We would take a nicely smooth rock and wrap it tightly with lots of string and pieces of cloth. Pillow fights and food fights were not a part of our experiences, but rock fighting was. Brutal, but fun. We knew how to dodge the "bullet" so to speak. Of course, everybody's luck eventually ran out.

Even as an adult I would spend my quiet walks collecting rocks and finding all kinds of uses for them. Now, my retirement years have been infused with semi-precious stones, silver, and sometimes pearls. My designs are as imaginative as the days of yore.

Please enjoy.
